Info On The Area
Whilst Kare Kare, just around the corner is well known for its role in The Piano, Bethells Beach gained worldwide familiarity whilst hosting productions that tended more toward kicking butt, such as Xena Warrior Princess, Hercules and even the Power Rangers. Just 40mins West of Auckland, the Waitakare Ranges and the surrounding wild and rugged landscape of Bethells, is dotted with numerous hot spots where filming took place during Xena Warrior Princess’s six year successful season run.
